Sean Johns just cannot stop winning as another stack of darts players fell by the wayside. And its not through lack of top class opposition!, its because in the last 2 years Johns has found a whole new level of play, a level that wouldn’t see him outclassed by some of the games top professionals!. Wayne Mardle look out come december!.

Johns started off with a 3-0 demolition of Aaron “the friendly giant” Bryant, then played “iceman” Dave Copplestone in the last 16, who is the lone challenger to Johns, a lot tougher opponent but same score 3-0 then it was the turn of Kevin Derosa who is one of cornwalls legends, again swept aside by the week st mary robot. In the semi final Andy Middleton took an early lead and started to look the part until the “baldie bomber” changed gear and ran out a 4-2 winner. Lying in wait in the final was new boy Andrew Windsor who had been playing his best darts of the season taking out Arthurs 3-1, Ian Derosa 4-1 and Youldon 4-2 respectively. And it was Windsor took the early advantage leading 2-1, and holding his own at 3-3 we started to think the upset was coming. But Johns found overdrive and put away the Halwill spoofer 5-3.

Middleton Rocks Big Guns On Debut!!

The first Golden Arrow of the new season saw the arrival of Andy Middleton into this seasons fray, and what a start he had!, After squeezing through a tough prelim against fellow debutante Andrew Winsor 3-2 he went on to beat the seasoned Paul Youlden 4-0 in the quater finals, but he wasn’t finished there, in the semi final he produced a fine display including a 14 dart leg to oust the 2004 & 2007 champion Dave “iceman” Copplestone 4-3 in a pulsating match.

However joining him in the final was the defending champ himself Sean Johns, who proved a much tougher nut to crack. Despite maintaining his great form Middleton could not out monouver the free flowing Johns who always seems to have another gear when needed with the final ending 5-3 in the week st mary mans favour.
